Why did I choose to study psychology?
Hello, readers.
This time, I'm going tell you about the reason that I choose study Psychology. First, I didn't always want to study psychology. When I was little, my dream was to be a teacher. I used to play with my brothers and I played the role of teacher, but when time passed, I discovered that I didn't have enough patience to devote myself to that.
When I was 17, in my school there was a subject on psychology and that was when I began to be interested in this subject, also the teacher taught very well and the topics were very interesting.
At 18, while I was in my last year of school, I was totally determined about studying psychology. Once I took the PSU test and was applying to universities, I didn't have too many career options, but I applied for the Bachelor of History degree anyway, because I really love history. When I was little I wanted to be a history teacher, but after all, I entered the University of Chile to study my first option: psychology, that made me so happy, because I always wanted to study in this university. I felt that all the effort was worth it.
The last five months at the university have been stressful and satisfying. I feel that I'm going in the right direction with my choice, but at the same time the career is demanding. However, I have become accustomed to this new routine.
For the future, I am still not too clear about the type of work I want to do in psychology, but I suppose that on the way I will discover it...
